Unmet Need

RDD Pharma focuses on providing medical solutions to ano-rectal diseases , to which currently there are limited therapies:

Anal Fissure: each year, about 3 million people suffer from anal fissure. An anal fissure is a small tear or cut in the skin that lines the anus. The typical symptoms of an anal fissure are pain during or after defecation and bleeding. Treatment comprises of relieving constipation with high fiber diet, stool softeners, and plenty of fluids. Medications that relax the anal sphincter are recommended, however in the USA, none is approved for this indication.

In a study performed for RDD Pharma in healthy human subjects, a clear dose dependent relaxation of the rectal sphincter was observed.

Fecal Incontinence: Incontinence is the impaired ability to control stool. Incontinence to stool is a common problem with an estimated 2% of the population effected by it, but often it is not discussed due to embarrassment. Treatment of incontinence may include: Dietary changes, Constipating medications, Muscle strengthening exercises, Biofeedback and surgical interventions. No medications are approved for these indications.

In a study performed for RDD Pharma in healthy human subjects, a clear dose dependent contraction of the rectal sphincter was observed.
